Bonefish Fishing Andros Island is a light tackle and fly fisherman’s paradise. The island abounds in crystal clear flats, creeks and bays that are loaded with fish. While bonefish, tarpon and permit are the primary target, don’t overlook the exciting action that barracuda, mutton snapper and small sharks can supply.
Whether you go guided or unguided, the endless flats, creeks and bays of Andros are unlike anyplace else you have fished. There are lots of fish, and no other people!

Scuba and Skin Diving The Andros Barrier Reef is the world’s sixth longest at 142 miles and the lagoon between the island and the reef is a snorkelers dream come true. The shallow warm water is crystal clear and filled with patches of live coral that are teeming with fish & lobster, sea fans & starfish, conch & helmet shells etc. etc.
Good places to dive are reachable from the shore or by small boat or kayak. Spearfishing is allowed (restricted to spear poles and slings) and it is relatively easy to catch enough fish, lobster and conch on a typical morning of diving or fishing to feast on for lunch and dinner.

Beach Combing Beach treasure of every description – sea glass, sea shells, and antique bottles are everyday finds. The underpopulated beaches on Andros are a true mecca for beach combing and every time the tide changes new treasures appear.
Put on your sandals and sunscreen, grab a bucket and take a walk on one of the thousands of beaches and flats that line the island. Some of the shells may be claimed by hermit crabs but they can be gently persuaded to move to a new house. Things like sand dollars and sea biscuits are already cleaned and bleached by the sun and sea glass comes in a never ending array of colors and shapes.
